Protect others. Protect your drone.

An incident can affect people, property or your own aircraft. Liability and Drone CASCO are two different types of protection, assessed for the way you use your drone in Moldova.

YOU PROTECT OTHERS.
WHO PROTECTS YOUR DRONE?

01 / THIRD PARTIES

Liability insurance
for drones

Protects the operator against the financial consequences of damage caused to other people or their property, within the policy limits and terms.

PeopleCarsBuildingsInfrastructure

Liability insurance covers third parties, not your own drone.

COVER AND TERMS

What the policy protects.
What to check.

Summary of the ING Broker documents available below. The issuing insurer’s terms and Insurance Product Information Document (DIPA) prevail in the event of discrepancies.

Third-party liability

Bodily injury or death and damage to third-party property caused by the fall, detachment or collision of the drone or its components.

Legal and defence costs require the insurer’s prior consent. Environmental damage is covered only if expressly included in the policy.

Liability exclusions and limits

Excludes your own drone, property held or controlled by the insured, intentional damage, commercial use declared as recreational, flights outside permitted areas, illegal activities, unapproved competitions or demonstrations, known defects and operation under alcohol or substances affecting control. Radioactive risks, war, insurrection, riots and terrorism are also excluded.

Claims paid reduce the annual limit. The deductible is subtracted from each claim payment.

Territory and claims steps

Republic of Moldova, in authorised airspace. Romania or the EU may be requested in the questionnaire but are covered only if the policy expressly includes the extension.

Notify the insurer immediately, within 24 hours at the latest. Do not admit liability or pay compensation without written consent. Provide documents establishing the cause and amount of damage.

AEROCASCO for your own drone

The summary includes total destruction, disappearance without trace including flyaway, damage in flight, taxiing and while stationary, natural disasters, unlawful third-party acts and theft, including components.

Installed additional equipment and search costs may be included optionally for an extra premium. AEROCASCO does not replace liability insurance.

Exclusions and uncovered uses

Excludes wear, corrosion, progressive deterioration, certain operating defects and local impacts discovered after a flight without a recorded accident. Special risks must be checked separately in the contract.

Cover does not apply to illegal or undeclared use, flights outside the contractual territory, pilots not specified in the contract or insufficiently qualified, unsuitable take-off areas, exceeding manufacturer limits or defects known before flight.

Value, deductible and claims steps

The sum insured cannot exceed actual value. Insuring a lower value reduces compensation proportionately. The policy deductible is subtracted from compensation.

Notify the insurer within 24 hours, excluding rest days and public holidays, then confirm in writing. Limit damage and coordinate repairs. The summary provides for a decision within 30 calendar days of the last document and payment within 7 days of the decision; reasonable salvage expenses are limited to 10% of the sum insured.

INSURANCE
AND FLIGHT AUTHORISATION
FOR YOUR DRONE.

Insurance and the right to fly are separate matters. A policy does not replace an authorisation, registration or approval applicable to the operation.

Requirements depend on the operator, drone, operation category and flight area. Consult AAC guidance and, where applicable, MoldATSA airspace coordination requirements and approvals from other authorities.

About ING Broker

11 / CLEAR ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS.

What you should know
before choosing your policy.

01What is drone insurance?

Drone insurance is a contract that may cover certain financial consequences of operating an unmanned aircraft. Liability concerns harm to third parties, while Drone CASCO concerns your own aircraft. The covers are assessed separately. Accepted risks, exclusions, limits and premiums are confirmed in the issuing insurer’s offer and documents.

02What is drone liability insurance?

Drone liability insurance is intended for harm to other people or their property during drone operation, within policy limits and terms. It may cover bodily injury or property damage for which the operator is liable. An incident is not automatically covered; circumstances and contractual provisions must be checked.

03Does liability insurance cover my drone?

No. Drone liability concerns third-party damage, not repair or replacement of your drone. Drone CASCO / AEROCASCO is assessed separately for the aircraft itself. An accident affecting both the drone and someone else’s property may involve two distinct types of damage, assessed under the applicable policies.

04What is Drone CASCO?

Drone CASCO covers your own drone against risks accepted by contract. Damage, accident, loss or theft may be assessed, without all being automatically included. Insured value, deductible, territory, accepted uses and accessories are agreed at quotation. CASCO does not replace liability insurance.

05What is AEROCASCO?

AEROCASCO is aircraft own-damage insurance under contractual terms. For drones it protects the unmanned aircraft, separately from third-party liability. The product name does not guarantee a particular list of risks. Check the scope in the issuing insurer’s offer and terms.

06What does flyaway mean?

Flyaway describes a drone moving away uncontrollably and becoming unrecoverable. It may involve loss of connection or other technical or operational circumstances. Temporary signal loss does not necessarily mean loss of the drone. The cause, flight data and policy terms matter when assessing a claim.

07Can Drone CASCO cover flyaway?

Flyaway is covered only if the risk and event circumstances are accepted by the policy terms. Do not assume every signal loss or unrecovered drone is insured. At quotation, request express confirmation of cover, exclusions and documents required to assess a claim.

08Can drone theft be covered?

Theft may be considered under Drone CASCO if included in the offer and contract. Cover may depend on the circumstances, storage or transport location and required security measures. Not every disappearance is equivalent. Check definitions, exclusions and obligations before taking out a policy.

09Can I insure a commercially used drone?

Commercial use can be assessed based on activity, drone characteristics and insurer criteria. Declare the actual purpose, territory and operating method. Filming, inspections and surveying have different exposures. ING Broker may request the necessary information; acceptance is confirmed at quotation.

10Can I insure agricultural drones?

Agricultural drones may be proposed for assessment, without automatic acceptance of every operation. State whether use involves monitoring, mapping or applying substances. Model, value, equipment, use and territory matter for quotation. Specific terms and accepted risks are confirmed with the insurer.

11Can I insure surveying drones?

Drones for surveying, cadastre, photogrammetry or mapping may be assessed according to their configuration and operations. State the sensors and accessories you want protected and their value. Inclusion is not automatic. Liability and own-equipment damage are assessed separately at quotation.

12Can I insure a fleet of drones?

ING Broker can assess requests for several drones operated by the same operator. Prepare an inventory with models, serial numbers, values and uses. Insurance structure depends on risk assessment and the available offer. A single policy, preferential rate or identical terms for every drone are not automatic.

13How is the insurance cost determined?

Indicative liability rates start at 500 MDL/year. Compare per-event and annual limits and the deductible. Asterra AEROCASCO costs 4% of the sum insured, minimum 1,000 MDL/year. Rates apply to Moldova for 12 months and are confirmed at issuance. See the Rates section.

14Which documents are needed?

Download the liability questionnaire from Request a quote. Prepare operator and drone details, use, territory, pilot information, applicable authorisations and claims history. AEROCASCO also requires review of actual value and additional equipment. The final list is confirmed at quotation.

15How do I request a quote?

Download and complete the liability application, then manually attach it to an email to ING Broker. For AEROCASCO or fleets, state models, values, uses and desired cover. The broker reviews the documents and provides available options; submitting a request does not activate cover.
